Watch the new CAT trailer, in which Randeep Hooda portrays a police informant

Netflix just released the trailer for its upcoming action-packed criminal thriller CAT, which highlights a parallel narrative extending over two critical Punjabi timeframes that affect one guy and his family, Gurnam Singh. An true tale of a brother’s love, remission, and espionage is shown in Balwinder Singh Janjua’s film CAT, which stars the dynamic and intense Randeep Hooda and transcends the romanticised portrayal of Punjab. On December 9th, just on Netflix, CAT, presented by Movie Tunnel Productions in collaboration to Jelly Bean Entertainment and available in Punjabi, Hindi, and English, will premiere.

CAT tells the tale of Gurnaam Singh, a man who, despite adopting a new identity as well as moving on with his life, is forced to revert to being a police informant. Gurnaam is not stranger to this, but this time the stakes are very high. He finds himself thrust into the depth of politics, corruption, and crime to bring down a thriving drug gang in order to protect his brother’s future. Is he being exploited for oneself in the process? Would this battle of cat & mouse lead him astray through the rabbit hole when he finds himself in the crossfire of treachery and deceit?

Balwinder Singh Janjua, the show’s creator, says of his entrance into the genre: “CAT is a very great storyline, and I’m delighted we could work with Netflix to brought this story to life. CAT is a narrative about relationships, whether they be family, friendship, or treachery, in my opinion as both a writer and director. Through well-developed characters, the story, which is set in Punjab, explores two timeframes and the underworld and its complexity. To emphasise authenticity and flavour, we photographed in more than 80 different places throughout Punjab. I am eager for the viewers to enjoy my satisfying experience working on CAT.

Exceptional performers Suvinder Vicky, Hasleen Kaur, Geeta Aggarwal, Dakssh Ajit Singh, Danish Sood, Sukhwinder Chahal, KP Singh, Kavya Thapar, and Pramod Pathal are featured in the series in addition to Randeep Hooda.
