Vivek Oberoi responds to ‘Challan’ for Riding Bike Without mask on valentine’s day

Actor Vivek Oberoi was recenty fined for violating traffic rules and COVID-19 safety precautions. This fine was charged after the actor was seen riding a bike without helmet and mask in a video on social media. The actor responded to the challan by Mumbai Police.

On 14th February, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi took his new bike for a spin. He shared a video on social media, in which he was seen riding a Harley Davidson with his wife Priyanka Alva-Oberoi on the pillion seat. The caption read, “What a start of this lovely valentine’s day with Main, Meri patni aur woh! A refreshing joyride indeed!”

In the video, both were seen without necessary protective gears. Since then Vivek has been receiving a lot of criticism on social media, as the actor didn’t just flout traffic rules but also ignored safety precautions during an ongoing pandemic.

On February 19, a FIR was lodged against the actor in Mumbai’s Juhu police station, for not wearing a mask. The Santacruz Division generated Rs 500 e-challan against Oberoi. The challan was issued on Friday at 7.02 pm by Assistant Inspector Nandkishore Jadhav.

On Saturday, PM Narendra Modi actor tweeted his reaction to the fine imposed on him. He acknowledged his mistake and said, “Pyaar humein kis mod pe le aaya! Nikle they nayi bike par hum aur hamari jaan, bina helmet ke kat gaya chalaan! Riding without a helmet? Mumbai police will do a checkmate! Thank u @mumbaipolice for making me realise that safety is always most important. Be safe, Wear a helmet & a mask.”

Further investigation into the case is being conducted by Sub-Inspector Kamble of Juhu Police Station, as an offence under Section 129/177 of the Motor Vehicles Act, Section 21, of the Maharashtra Covid-19 Measures 2020 has been registered.

On Sunday, cops went to record the actor’s statement but the actor is currently in Delhi.

Oberoi was last seen in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biopic PM Narendra Modi, which did not do well at the box office.
