“Scoop” Teaser: Karishma Tanna portrays reporter Jigna Vora who is charged with murdering journalist J Dey
Netflix, a streaming service, on Saturday unveiled the lineup of future Indian programming for its Tudum event, which includes director Hansal Mehta’s film “Scoop,” which stars Karishma Tanna as investigative reporter Jigna Vora who is accused of killing journalist J Dey.
The teaser for “Scoop” was shown during the Tudum India event, which was hosted by entertainer Zakir Khan as well as actor Prajakta Koli. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Harman Baweja, and Ravi Mahashabde also appear in the movie.
“Scoop” is influenced by Jigna Vora’s autobiographical book, “Behind The Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison,” which details her experiences after being charged with the murder of another journalist.
Karishma, who is well-known for TV dramas like “Kiyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi,” “Qayamat Ki Raat,” and “Naagin,” plays a writer who is accused of murder in the 58-second teaser.
The trailer opens with mobster Chota Rajan declaring over the phone that Jigna was the one who ordered him to kill. The struggle of the reporter, who must deal with the media and police trials, is then the focus of the teaser.
Problem is, either you break a news story or the news story breaks you, Karishma is heard stating.
Two motorcycle-riding assailants shot and killed Jyotirmoy Dey in Mumbai’s Powai neighbourhood. Because he was upset that Dey was making a complaint against him, mafia don Chhota Rajan claimed accountability for the killing following the shootout. Jigna complained about Dey to Chhota Rajan, per the CBI chargesheet, because of their professional animosity.
The trial court cleared Vora in 2018. The then-Maharashtra administration did, however, appeal her acquittal in the Bombay High Court.
Talking about the show, the presentation looks amazing, fans are truly going to like it.
