RoundGlass Punjab defeats Mohammedan Sporting Club 1-0 in the I-League.

In their second I-League 2022–23 game, RoundGlass Punjab FC defeated Mohammedan Sporting Club 1-0 at the Haryana based Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula. On Sunday, Luka Majcen scored the game’s only goal early in the first half, which was sufficient for the hosts to record their second consecutive victory. On the opposite hand, the outcome means that the Black as well as White Brigade has now suffered two consecutive road losses.

The first half got off to an explosive start as Majcen scored for RoundGlass Punjab FC inside the third minute by coolly putting a pass through that split the defence by Samuel Lamuanpuia. Marcus Joseph was one on one with the goalkeeper in the following minute thanks to Kean Lewis’ clipped ball, which gave Mohammedan a wonderful opportunity. He failed miserably, as Kiran Limbu saved two shots to win the game. As the game calmed down, the struggle for midfield possession became more intense, and opportunities became scarcer. Majcen’s effort in the eighth minute narrowly missed the crossbar, while SK Faiaz threatened with a pass in the 25th minute that Deepak Devrani clumsily cleared and nearly found the back of the net.

Majcen converted for RoundGlass Punjab FC in the 3rd minute by calmly sending a pass thru that actually split the defence by Samuel Lamuanpuia, giving the first half off to an exciting start. In the next minute, Kean Lewis’ clipped ball put Marcus Joseph one on one with the goalkeeper, which presented Mohammedan with a fantastic opportunity. Kiran Limbu saved 2 shots to finish the game, so he utterly failed. When the game settled down, there were fewer opportunities and a greater tussle for midfield possession. Majcen’s attempt inside the eighth minute just missed the crossbar, then in the 25th minute, SK Faiaz pushed with a pass that Deepak Devrani awkwardly cleared and almost found the goal.
