Ram Mandir: Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra received ₹1,511 crore in contributions
On Friday, the trust treasurer of Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Swami Govind Dev Giri said that the account of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra has received ₹1,511 crore rupees so far. The Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra oversees the construction and management of Ram Temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.
Swami Govind Dev Giri was quoted as saying, “Till now, ₹1,511 crore has been deposited in the account of Trust for the construction of Ram Mandir.” (ANI)
Giri also highlighted that the Teerth Kshetra wants to reach out to 4 lakh villages and 11 crore families across India. He said, “For the construction of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the whole nation is donating funds. We aim to reach 4 lakh villages and 11 crore families across the country during our donation drive. We are conducting the donation drive from January 15 and it will continue till Feb 27. I am here in Surat as part of the drive.”
The trust treasurer further underscored that a large number of donations is because people are excited about the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He said, “People are contributing to the trust. After 492 years, people have got such an opportunity again to do something for the Dharma.”
The contribution campaign for the construction of the grand temple in Ayodhya began on January 15. This will go on for the next two weeks and will end on February 27.
On November 2019, a 5 judge Supreme Court bench headed by former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi ruled in favour of Ram Lalla. The bench said that the disputed land, which spreads over 2.7 acres, will be handed over to a trust formed by the government. The trust will monitor the construction of the Ram Temple.
In February 2020, to oversee the construction, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the constitution of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra.
On 5th August 2020, PM Modi performed the bhoomi pujan for the construction of the Temple.
