Punjab Exit Poll Results 2019 to be declared today at 06:30 pm

The Punjab elections exit poll results will be declared today at 6.30 pm. Punjab was among the last states to vote of Lok Sabha elections in the seventh and last phase on May 19. The counting of votes will be taken up on May 23.

The northen state sends 13 Members of Palriament to Lok Sabha, from Anandpur Sahib, Firozpur, Khadoor Sahib, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Gurdaspur, Bathinda, Sangrur, Patiala, Jalandhar and Faridkot.

Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Fatehgarh Sahib and Faridkot seats are reserved for scheduled castes.

In 2014, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had won four seats each, Indian National Congress had secured three seats while the Bharatiya Janata Party had won two seats.

Punjab has over 2.07 crore voters eligible to exercise their franchise to elect 13 MPs from 278 candidates. Prominent faces in fray include SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and Union ministers Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Hardeep Puri. Actor-turned-politician Sunny Deol, Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jakhar, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Punjab unit chief Bhagwant Mann are also among other prominent candidates in the race to Parliament from Punjab.
