PM Modi’s Mann ki baat: Highlights
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed this year’s first Mann Ki Baat programme. He highlighted all the major events that happened in India over the last month. He also talked about the violence that broke out in the National Capital between protesting farmers and the Delhi Police.
The programme started at 11a. m. on Sunday and will be aired live on All India Radio, DD as well as the Narendra Modi Mobile App.
PM Modi talked about these matters in today’s programme:-
1) Republic day violence
PM Modi said, “In the midst of all this, India was shocked to witness the insult of the tricolour on 26th January.”
“We have to fill the coming days with hope and novelty,” he said.
2) Vaccination drive is an example
Modi said, “With the start of new year, India’s war against corona has also completed almost a year. Just as India’s war against corona became an example to the world, similarly our vaccination programme is also becoming an example to the world. India is conducting the world’s biggest Covid vaccine programme.”
3) Self- reliant India in vaccines
PM Modi said that the country was only able to send consignments of indigenous corona virus vaccines to foreign countries as it is self-reliant in the field of medicines and vaccines.
4) Writing about Freedom fighters
PM Modi said, “I call upon all the countrymen & especially our young friends, to write about our freedom fighters, events associated with it & write books about tales of valour during freedom struggle from their areas.”
He added, “Now that India is going to celebrate 75 years of its independence, your writings will be an ideal tribute to the heroes of freedom movement.”
5) All women team that flew Air India’s first non-stop San Francisco-Bengaluru flight
PM Modi praised the efforts of the four women Air India pilots who flew the airlines’ first non-stop flight from San Francisco in the United States to Bengaluru in Karnataka, earlier this month.
He said, “The flight, covering a distance of over 10,000 kms, brought over 225 people to India. Be it any field, participation of nation’s women is continuously increasing.”

6) Elderly Kerala man who cleans lake on his boat
PM Modi lauded efforts of elderly Kerala man who cleans lake on his boat.
There is divyang elderly person in Kerala’s Kottayam, NS Rajappan. He is unable to walk due to paralysis. But his commitment towards cleanliness hasn’t faded. From past several years, he rows his boat in Vembanad Lake&clears plastic bottles. Imagine, how lofty are his ideals!: PM
7) India’s priority in Vaccination
PM Modi spoke about the success of India’s ongoing vaccination drive. He said this vaccination drive is the largest in the world. Vaccinating corona warriors, who are at the frontline of India’s battle against the deadly pandemic, is the country’s priority.
8) Indian Cricket team
PM Modi said, “This month, there has been very good news from the cricket pitch too. Our cricket team, after initial setbacks made a grand comeback, winning the series in Australia. The hard work and teamwork of our players is inspirational.”
