PM Modi to address webinar for effective implementation of budget provisions in infrastructure sector
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a webinar for consultation on a roadmap for effective implementation of the provisions of Union Budget 2021-22 for development of infrastructure. The webinar will start at 4pm.
Prime Minister’s Office released a statement and said, ‘Prime Minister Modi will address the webinar for consultation on the roadmap for effective implementation of Union Budget 2021-22 in the infrastructure sector on February 16 at 4 pm.’
It further stated that the webinar will see the participation of more than 200 panellists. These panellists will include representatives from major financial institutions, funds, concessionaires and contractors, consultants and subject matter experts.

During the webinar, the panellists will focus on sharing their thoughts. They will share their ideas on improving pace and quality of infrastructure development, through advanced technology, and attracting more investments in the sector.
The statement said, ‘The webinar will be followed by two parallel breakout sessions involving discussions between senior officials from various ministries and cross-sectional experts. The session will be conducted with an aim of compiling a list of implementable projects to fast-track implementation of the budget vision and draft an implementation roadmap. Ongoing consultations have also been planned with stakeholders on implementation of the finalized strategy.
The Union Budget 2021 was presented by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1, 2021. The experts from the infrastructure sector welcomed the budget with an open heart. According to the experts the finance minister has tried to revitalise the sector. Sitharaman announced a 34 per cent increase in the capital expenditure for the sector including creation of special Development Financial Institutions to ease the funding for the infrastructural projects.
