Pm Modi, Amit Shah won’t campaign for Bihar bypolls, BJP releases list of star campaigners
prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will not campaign in Bihar for the bypolls taking place for one Lok Sabha and five assembly seats.
The BJP on Wednesday released a list of 35 star campaigners for Bihar bypolls which includes BJP’s working president JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, and Union ministers Nityanand Rai, Giriraj Singh and Ashwini Choubey, along with host of state leaders.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah do not figure in the list of star campaigners for Bihar.
Others whose name figure in the star campaigners’ list are Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi, state ministers Nand Kishore Yadav, Prem Kumar, Mangal Pandey, parliamentarian Rajiv Pratap Rudy and BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain
Voting for Samastipur Lok Sabha seat and five assembly seats–Kishanganj, Belhar, Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Nathnagar and Gharaunda–is scheduled to take place on October 21. Counting of votes will take place on October 24.
The ruling JD(U) has fielded candidates on four assembly seats while BJP is fighting on Kishanganj seat. LJP, a BJP ally, is contesting the Samastipur Lok Sabha seat.
The JD(U) has also released its list of star campaigners which includes Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, state president Vashishth Narayan Singh, vice-president Prashant Kishor, parliamentarian RCP Singh and spokesperson Sanjay Singh.
The Opposition RJD has also released its list of star campaigners which includes former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, parliamentarian Misa Bharti, Leader of Opposition Tejaswi Yadav and legislator Tej Pratap Yadav.
