NIA arrests Khalistani terrorist at Delhi airport upon his deportation
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrested absconding Khalistani terrorist Gurjeet Singh Nijjar in a Pune Khalistan case. Nijjar, who was hiding in Cyprus, was arrested on the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi upon his deportation.
A resident of the Ajnala city in Amritsar, Nijjar had left for Cyprus on October 19, 2017, a launch issued by the company acknowledged including that his transit custody shall be obtained and he will likely be taken to Mumbai for additional investigation.
The NIA had registered a case on January 10, 2019 towards Nijjar and one other accused Harpal Singh beneath Section 3 &25 of the Arms Act,1959; Sections 37 & 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 and Section 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
Further investigations by the NIA revealed that Nijjar, Singh and a 3rd accused- Moin Khan had orchestrated a prison conspiracy to revive Sikh militancy for the last word goal of forming a separate state of Khalistan.
The trio by social media platforms used to publish photos and movies of the 1984 Operation Blue Star and Jagtar Singh Hawara- a convict accused in assassination of former Punjab CM Beant Singh.
Pro-Khalistani posts associated to a proscribed outfit named Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) have been additionally put as much as encourage likeminded Sikh youths and others to hitch the Khalistani motion, the NIA launch added.
