Modi’s Mission ‘Apple’ For Kashmir, 8000 Crore Scheme Coming

Kashmiri apple is in demand all over the world and now the government is going to provide direct benefits to the apple growers. Under this, 12 lakh metric tons of apples will be taken directly from the farmers and they will be supplied further. Now its amount will directly reach the farmers’ account.
It has been almost a month since Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir. Constant restrictions are being relaxed by the central government, as well as new avenues of development are also being prepared. Kashmiri apple is in demand all over the world and now the government is going to provide direct benefits to the apple growers. Under this, 12 lakh metric tons of apples will be taken directly from the farmers and they will be supplied further. Now its amount will directly reach the farmers’ account.

On Monday, Chief Secretary BVR Subramaniam held a meeting with several top officials including the Deputy Commissioner of Kashmir Division. In this, there was talk on the implementation of the special market intervention price scheme (MISP) run by the central government.

With this scheme, farmers will be directly benefited, their consumption will increase and apple supply will also be there. The special thing is that now the money will go directly to the farmers’ account. It is being told that the income of the farmers of the valley will increase by about Rs 2000 crore from this scheme.
Initially apples will be purchased from farmers from 1 September 2019 to 1 March 2020. A budget of about 8000 crore rupees has been prepared for these 6 months. To encourage farmers of the valley through this scheme being run under the Union Ministry of Agriculture and NAFED.
