
Gujarat Assembly elections: BJP publishes initial list of 160 nominees, chief minister Bhupendra Patel will run in the Ghatlodia district
The initial list of 160 contenders for the Gujarat Assembly elections was made public by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday. Bhupendra Patel, the chief minister, will run for office in the Ghatlodia district. The candidates’ identities were revealed during a joint press conference that was addressed by Bhupender Yadav, Union Ministers Mansukh Mandviya, and State BJP Chief CR Paatil. Rivaba Jadeja, the cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife, received a ticket and will run for office in the Jamnagar North district. Notably, the BJP held its Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting for the Gujarat Assembly election on Wednesday at the party’s headquarters under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, National president JP Nadda, Ex Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa, and others arrived at the party HQ for the meeting. He is currently a Rajkot West MLA.
On Tuesday night, the BJP top group met at Nadda’s house to discuss the upcoming elections in Gujarat. The BJP is running for reelection in Gujarat, where the state has long been their stronghold. Gujarat will hold elections on December 1 to December 5. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is making attempts to perform well in the elections while Congress is attempting to unseat the BJP.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced seven candidates for the 2018 Gujarat state elections. By doing this, the party has now formally introduced 137 candidates for the two-phase election for the 182 member Gujarat Assembly, which will be held on December 1 and 5.
Amee Yagnik, a member of the Rajya Sabha who represents the Ghatlodia constituency, which is now held by CM Bhupendra Patel, is one of the 43 candidates on the opposition Congress’s initial list for the Gujarat Assembly elections, which was released on Friday.
