‘Don’t murder his enthusiasm’: Farhan Akhtar backs Arjun Tendulkar amid nepotism trolls

Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar has spoken in defense of Arjun Tendulkar who has been subjected to nepotism trolls after the IPL 2021 auctions.

When it comes to any social or political issues, actor director and playback singer, Farhan Akhtar has always been very open about his thoughts. Amid all the controversies revolving around Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun tendulkar, Farhan has once again opened up and supported the young talent. He said that Arjun is extremely focussed on becoming a ‘better cricketer’ and urged everyone not to destroy his enthusiasm before he begins.

Farhan penned a strong message and tweeted, “I feel I should say this about #Arjun_Tendulkar. We frequent the same gym & I’ve seen how hard he works on his fitness, seen his focus to be a better cricketer. To throw the word ‘nepotism’ at him is unfair & cruel. Don’t murder his enthusiasm & weigh him down before he’s begun.”

During the IPL 2021 auction on Thursday, Arjun Tendulkar was bought at a base price of Rs 20 Lakh by Mumbai Indians. As soon as the news came out, the legendary cricketer’s son was brutally trolled by netizens. Twitter erupted with memes on him, where everyone called him a product of nepotism. Sachin Tendulkar was also a part of Mumbai Indians before his retirement.

Farhan’s lady love Shibani Dandekar also retweeted Farhan’s post and wrote, “THIS!!!”

After Farhan’s tweet, film exhibitor Akshay Rakhi also took to twitter to speak in favour of Arjun. He wrote, “His performance in the domestic scene has earned him what he’s got. And like in the movies, his performance is the only thing that will pave the course of his career! Armchair critics will keep talking & that shouldn’t matter! Hope he rocks the IPL! #ArjunTendulkar.”

Apart from celebrities, few netizens also supported Arjun as they claimed that the trolling was ‘irrelevant’ and if he doesn’t play well, he’ll be dropped.

On work front, Farhan Akhtar will be seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s sports drama, Toofan. Akhtar will be playing the role of a boxer in the film.
