Covid-19 cases: India reports less than 10,000 daily, tally over 10.76 million
India reported the lowest fresh corona virus disease cases since January 19. On Tuesday morning, India recorded 9,102 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 117 related deaths in the last 24 hours. This data was released by the Union ministry of health and family welfare on Tuesday.
According to the Health Ministry’s dashboard, the active caseload of the country has also dipped below 180,000 as the tally stood at 10,676,838.
Currently the active cases of Covid-19 are 177,266.
Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal account for 75 per cent of the total active cases in the country.
The country was able to cure 10,345,985 patients from the virus till date. 15,901 people were discharged from across the country. From Monday and Tuesday morning, 15,901 have been cured.
Since the vaccination drive started in India, 20,23,809 people have been vaccinated.
India started its countrywide vaccination drive on January 16. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In only 6 days India administered 1 million Covid-19 vaccine doses and took the number of beneficiaries close to 16 lakh. India’s count is higher than that of countries like the US and the UK. The UK took 18 days whereas the US took 10 days to reach the one million mark.
