Amazon building Clubhouse-like audio app: report
According to The Verge, Amazon is building a standalone audio-only app that customers can use to record and distribute radio shows.Known as Project Mic, it will compete with Facebook’s Clubhouse, which grew common this year after CEOs like Elon Musk and Zuckerberg joined it.
According to the report, the venture intends to democratize radio and reinvent it. Content will cover popular culture, comedy, and sports, with an initial focus on U.S. customers.
App users will also be able to listen via Audible, Amazon Music, Twitch, and Alexa-enabled devices. According to the report, listeners will be able to control Alexa devices simply by speaking.
To give customers the standard radio experience, the app can be integrated into automobile audio systems. Moreover, the app will likely show trending subjects, live classes, and let customers search for content by topic, name, or music.
Additionally, the knowledge giant plans to recruit celebrities to add content material and launch the app.
With this move, Amazon will even be able to add reside audio content along with different music and radio options with the likes of Apple and Spotify.
